Jasper Newton Daniel was born in 1850, one of 13 children and was raised by a family friend, Dan Call family from the age of seven. And that's when he got involved in the distilling business. Call he was also a Lutheran minister.
Jack was just 13 when Call decided to sell the distillery to him. Soon he became the first one to register his distillery in the nation in 1866. He continued its unique distilling process, charcoal mellowing and made his whiskey near Cave Spring Hollow with Tennessee's iron-free limestone water.
