OP is as simple as vodka can get.
Sweden's V&S introduced another vodka after the mega success of Absolut. "OP is completely above all other products out there," says Michel Roux, founder and CEO of Crillion Importers. (It's not the famous chef, Michel Roux of London by the way).
Michel, a French native emigrated to the U.S. in 1964 and worked at Carilon as a salesman. He was also a major party-player of Manhattan at night. He left Carillion in 1998 and started his own, Crillion Importers.
Michel is known for this marketing telent that introduced Absolut to the U.S. market before the brand was acquired by Seagram. He also invented Bombay Sapphire and developed Stolichnaya Vodka's popular flavor. His portfolio also includes Jamaican rum called Rhum Babancourt and Absente spirit.
With $2.5 million budget to inspire the vodka lovers, OP represents "extreamly modern and hip, yet traditional and old-fashioned" taste in design. Joined by New York's ad agency, Gigante Vaz Partners, OP's marketing campaigns position the product as a "unique taste sensation" on regional and national magazines.
Embrink Design Swedish design firm created the clearn outline of the frosted glass bottle while internationally famous Swedish graphic designer, Gabor Palotai worked on the bold logo and the bottle graphics. The contradictory nature of Sweden's contemporary culture is mirrored in OP's fashion.
What's Inside? It's flavored by traditional Swedish aquavit spices such as caraway, fennel and anise and aged for 8 months in oak barrels to achive a mellow favor during the maturation. Right before the vodka is bottled, natural peach, orange and ginger essences are blended in.
OP is available nationwide for $31.99 for 1 liter bottle.
