Poached Vodka Pears with Bay Leaf
Ingredients: (makes 4 servings)
- 4 each ripe USA pears (Anjou or Bosc), peeled
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup Grey Goose pear flavored vodka
- 1 1/2 cups orange juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- fresh bay leaf to garnish with pear

Combine orange juice, water, brown sugar, bay leaves and nutmeg in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer, stirring well to mix. Add pears. Cook over high heat to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 - 20 minutes. Disgard bay leaves and pour vodka. Serve pears with juice in individual bowls. Garnish with bay leaf at stem of each individual pear.
