Growing up in the Tri-State area, Jason Cobb caught the bar bug a bit too early, but it has grown even stronger over the years. "With each passing life experience, there is a cocktail that goes with it," says Cobb. Born to parents whose pride lay in elaborate hosting, Cobb's earliest passions were put to work at the fully stocked and functional bar known in most homes as the rec room. It was here that names like Stinger, Manhattan, Presbyterian, and Bloody Mary became common lingo. Eventually he found himself debuting in the restaurant business by the time he was in his teens.

He later moved his way through every possible position from dish washer to Captain. Expressing his dedication to the industry at establishments from cozy neighborhood haunts to luxe establishments such as David Bouley's Danube, and the Manhattan Ocean Club.

Eventually he found his way to Brandy Library where the vast world of aged spirits engulfed him. He has successfully completed the Spirit Sommelier Training Program, in addition to the Kevin Zraly wine program. Cobb possesses a hearty knowledge of food, wine, service, and now cocktails. With a decade of experience behind the stick, he is cautiously entering into the fine world of mixology and along the way demonstrating his already impressive knowledge in potent tipples, but imbibing all resources at his disposal in the name of higher education. Eventually Cobb envisions himself, following his sweet Mom's advice, "Bartend, travel the world... everybody needs a bartender."

Jason Cobb's MARIE BRIZARD Cocktails

SHORT DRINK:
Devil's Breath

Ingredients:
1/2 oz MARIE BRIZARD WHITE MINT
MARIE BRIZARD ANISETTE for rim
3 oz Sobieski vodka
Sugar
6 thinly sliced lemon fries
Garnish: MARIE BRIZARD ANISETTE and sugar rim and 6 thinly sliced lemon peal fries

Garnish a cocktail glass with Marie Brizard Anisette and sugar rim. Slice a peal of lemon into 6 thinly sliced fries and place into the glass. In a mixing glass, combine Marie Brizard White Mint and Sobieski vodka. Stir with ice and strain into a prepared cocktail glass.


TALL DRINK:
Mad Hatter

Ingredients:
1/2 oz MARIE BRIZARD POIRE WILLIAM (pear)
1/2 oz MARIE BRIZARD PEACH
Brandy Library tea infusion (Cognac/Organic Earl Grey tea)
Garnish: Peach slices and pear slices

Build all ingredients into a highball glass with ice and stir in glass.
