Joe Wrye bartends at Waterbar that overlooks San Francisco's beautiful bay. Opening the new Pat Kuleto project, Waterbar has been a culmination of his experience and focus as a lead bartender. At Waterbar, patrons enjoy this premier place for fresh seafood and seasonal cocktails as the boats go by. Native of Boston, he began his bartending career in college. While developing as an artist, Wrye tended bar all over the country with majority of his years spent between Boston and San Francisco. He calls himself a "classic modern cliche - the artist bartender." Some of his paintings are hanged in bars and restaurants from his childhood pizzeria in Boston to One Market Restaurant (1 Market Plaza, San Francisco, CA, 94105) and now at Waterbar in San Francisco. Wrye takes a more traditional approach toward his bartending: do the basics very well; focus on welcoming guests; use of the best and freshest ingredients; knowledge, attention to detail and guidance for the guests. "Understanding my limits and balancing them with creativity and personality is what I try to do," says Wrye. Please join him at Waterbar to try his cocktails and friendly service. The bar is open daily and serves lunch and dinner.
