Having spent 4 years in the Marines and 6 years in the Air Force, today Tony Perez enjoys his civilian life as a head bartender at the G in Philadelphia. Perez started in restaurant business at Planet Hollywood as a waiter in Las Vegas, then moved to New York, where he first started tending a bar at Planet Hollywood and the Hard Rock Cafe. After 6 years tending a bar there, he moved to Philadelphia to work for The Prime Rib before joining the G. Perez likes to keep his drink simple and flavorful and enjoys making cocktails for the hip crowd that enjoys the G scenes. "It's the first ultra premium lounge/bar in Philly that wants to cater to guest, who wants to have that Vegas or Miami style fun. It's a place, where the young professionals come lay back and have fun," says Perez. He believes that every guest is different, so when making a cocktail, make one for the guest's taste buds and not for your own. Though this is his first appearance in Marie Brizard Cocktail Challenge, he is no stranger in cocktail competitions. Most recently he has won a gold medal at 2008 Philadelphia Mojito Olympics with Pineapple Ginger Infused Mojito.Please join Tony Perez at G on 111 south 17th Street in Philadelphia. SHORT DRINK:Mai Amour Ingredients: 1 oz MARIE BRIZARD PARFAIT AMOUR 1 oz Sobieski Vodka 1 egg white 1/2 oz aloe vera juice Splash of lemon juice Garnish: Orchid, shaved orange vanilla rimming inside martini glass Mix all ingredients to dry shake for 30 seconds. Shake with ice 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with orchid.
TALL DRINK:French Sangria Ingredients: 1 oz MARIE BRIZARD PEACH DU VERGER 1 oz MARIE BRIZARD MANGUE (Mango) 1 oz MARIE BRIZARD MANZANITA (green apple) 2 cups Bordeaux wine San Pellegrino Aranciata Garnish: fresh fruit, cinnamon stick Add all ingredients into a pitcher. Mix with a tall spoon. Pour into a tall glass and top with Aranciata. Garnish with a fresh fruit skewer and a cinnamon stick. View More Challengers
