More than 33 million Irish Americans live in the United States today, almost 9 times more than a population of Ireland itself according to the US Census Bureau. It is unsure how or when the first Irish whiskey was made, but there's a record from 1818 that shows whiskey production in Dublin. The famous Irish whiskey, Jameson was created by a Scot, John Jameson who arrived in Dublin in the late 18th century. Another Irish brand, Bushmills is produced at the world's oldest whiskey distillery licensed in 1608 by King James I.
