Eddie Russell Eddie Russell

Edward Freeman Russell works at Wild Turkey Distillery as a Manager of Maturation and Barrel Inventory in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. He is also a son of Master Distiller, Jimmy Russell.

After graduating from the University of Kentucky with his Associate's Degree, he spent some time working at the Wild Turkey Distillery until he figured out that he didn't want to be anywhere else. Eddie Russell is the 5th Russell generation to work at the Wild Turkey Distillery.

He began at the distillery as a relief operator. He eventually became a supervisor of new production and then a warehouse supervisor, then became a manager of maturation and barrel inventory.

Does he think his sons, Bruce and Jacob should make the same choice he did? "I wouldn't push them into, but I'd be delighted if they did. After all, it's in their blood. They are the great, great, great, great grandsons of the Reverend Elijah Craig - the man who is commonly known here in Kentucky as the father of bourbon."

When Thomas McCarthy, one of the executives at Austin, Nicholos (parent company of Wild Turkey Distillery) was out hunting for wild turkey in South Carolina with this whiskey, his whiskey became his hunter friends' favourite and that's where the famous Wild Turkey got its name.
